  • Seedy Saturday - 1st Annual in Madeira Park

    The first annual Seedy Saturday in Madeira Park at the Community Hall, on Saturday, March 20 from 10:00am-3:00pm.

    (Admission: adults $2 )

    Join us for a day of family fun, seed swaping, and one stop shopping for all your gardening, gift and gourmet needs. Nicholas Simons, MLA will be at the opening ceremonies.

    Carolyn Herriot, author of “A Year on The Garden Path,” will give a talk on the Zero Mile Diet. Students who entered the Garden Planning Calendar and poster colouring contests will be awarded their prizes. This is a Zero Waste Event, so please bring your own mugs to get a discount on beverages!

    All proceeds go to starting a Seed Bank and Community Garden - the first step in creating a food secure, self reliant community, prepared for any emergency.

    Everyone who has saved seeds, please bring them for the Seed Swap table. We are requesting donations for the silent auction and raffle. We need volunteers to help before and during the event.

      The Skinnydipper Recreation Club is coming to the Sunshine Coast. We will be hosting a family friendly clothing-optional swim at the Gibson and District Aquatic Facility from 7:00pm to 10:00pm on Saturday, 27 March 2010. We have been hosting nude swim nights at Newton Wave Pool in Surrey and at Renfrew Pool (now discontinued) in Vancouver since 2002. Other events we have produced include bare bowling in New Westminster and day cruises out of Vancouver Harbour.
