The road between parking lot 1 & 2 starts out muddy but ends up as wet slippery ice. Chains are recommended for the safety of everyone. Put them on at Parking lot 1 so as not to hold up traffic. The SCRD groomed today so ski conditions are good. Thanks Guys!

TetCurrent Conditions Sunday, February 11, 2007Yo! Gray FSR is in decent shape, only a few icey sections near the top (only on the flats though so coming down is safe -- as long as you use your head!). I had no problems with my 4x4 (no chains). Above freezing, started spitting at about 9:00am and gradually picked up to a constant drizzle by 1:00pm, half sleet-half rain. Good snow, the trails are packed, however, off trail is going to be slower, so plan accordingly. You will notice shoers who need larger snowshoes, as there are many fall-throughs.

Keep the Great reports comingAlert / Warning Sunday, February 11, 2007It is great to have current info coming in on all are snow areas. Please carry a shovel and if you see water running down the road just try to get it running off. Just a little trench with gravel put on down hill side works great. This will help keep road from washing out.
Posted by: Plow Guy
Tetrahedron RoadCurrent Conditions Tuesday, February 13, 2007Road is in good shape some icey sections but will not have to chain up. 4x4 is best as road has some soft spots and cross ditches. Temp has been around 0'c for high and low at parkng lot. No new snow there for 3 weeks or more. Snow is soft and wet so it is easy to sink down aways. Almost like a big slushy except without the syrup. Take care watch for pot holes and cross ditches.
Have fun

Snowing all way down to 1500ft. You may find it colder then normal up there. The wind is blowing and snow coming down. The Groomer has not been up for a while so skiing is difficult. Maybe someone at SCRD will read this and get Groomer up there.(HINT HINT) Weather can change fast up there this time of year so prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Tetrahedron ParkCurrent Conditions Wednesday, February 21, 2007Spent Tuesday and Wednesday in the tet. There was about 3-4 inches of new snow during the day on Tuesday and about 4-6 inches of new snow from Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning -- Beautiful fluffy snow. Lots of snow on the road and was safe with my 4x4 (no chains), but I took it really easy. Amazing snowshoeing, and I would imagine the skiing would be just as good. Temperatures were nice, around minus 2 to minus 4 during the day. Only went to Bachelor Cabin and day hikes from there...had to cut trail from the intersection (must have been lots of fresh snow as I was there last week). I would imagine you will have to be prepared if planning any of the peaks as there will be layers of snow and ice. I think the Tetrahedron Outdoors Club lends out avalanche beacons.
Be Safe.

Dakota Ridge Snow DeepCurrent Conditions Monday, February 26, 2007Snow so deep with powder you sink 2-3 fett with large snow shoes on when off trail. with out snow shoes you sink to your croch. Lots of deep snow and was snowing most of day yesterday. Looks like someone groomed the main trail up to the shelter up there. And thanks to some skidoos packing some trails down we could follow them on our skies.
Road was great compact snow 1/3 of way up from first parking lot. And the top of the second lot past the bridge was very icey. Some crazy people in 2 wheel drive cars were skidding and spinning and making road ice We were chained up with allwheel drive. It would be great if it was sanded.
It was great having lunch it that shelter hut thing. Next time we will take a litle propane heater to warm up and dry out a bit.
Saw a guy sink his snow mobile almost out of site, snow is so deep in powder We could only try to ski on tracks left from a snow mobile.
