Please post reports after you come down from Tet or Dakota Saturday, October 03, 2009
This site works best if people can post reports after they come down from trips up the Hill. We know a large school group was up at Steele recently and there was some fresh snow on ground. Please share info. Always god to know weather and snow etc at cabins. If you see any problems contacte Tet club. Also please remember that the Cabins on the Tet are kept up with donations from Cabin users. It was really nice that school group posted they would be up but please post a trip report too. Take Care Have fun

Tet Outdoor club work party Brushing trails Friday, October 09, 2009
We are planning a work party for Sunday October 18th, meeting at 0900 at the bottom of Gray Creek Road. The goal is to brush out the old spur road that leads from the summer parking area/kiosk to the start of the original Gilbert Lake winter route. Please bring a chainsaw or power brush cutter if you have one, or a hand loppers/pruning saw, and don't forget your safety gear. If you have no equipment, no worries - if you have a good back, gloves, eye & ear protection there will be lots of cut brush to move & scatter. And don't forget food & water. We will car pool from the start of the Gray Creek road.

Only 45-60 days till snow season Saturday, October 17, 2009
To bad all this rain coming down here is not snow up top. Going from archived reports we can almost be certain to have good snow by Dec 15th or sooner. Heard that insulation is being put into Quanset hut at Dakota. Get those winter tires and chains ready. Maybe we can get a volunteer group to make a kids slidding area up there. Or at Lot A. Remember driving the Back roads to slow down and use your headlights, roads are narrow expect another vehicle to come around the corner. Or be stopped in middle of the road. Have Fun this winter Play in the snow up top where it belongs.

whats happened to dakota ridge Tuesday, October 20, 2009
Check the website no change to it since april. Drove up and gate locked walked up. Sign is gone looks like they just up and walked away. I thought it was to be some big deal with Olympics coming and all. Would be a shame to waste that area.

it's still here Wednesday, October 21, 2009
Shawn,
The site probably hasn't been changed since april as there hasn't been snow since april (well there was...but the ridge closed anyways) The gate is closed to keep idiot 4x4ers from destroying the trails...and the sign was probably taken down to prevent idiots from vandalizing it.

McNair Cabin Current Conditions Monday, October 26, 2009
We hiked to the cabin from Grey creek side on Sat. The weather was fantastic, the air crisp and cool,The colors and scenery were fantastic. Had lunch at the cabin and then returned. The door to the cabin was open when we got there and it seems the dead bolt does'nt line up with the catch, If you're going to McNair take a file and see if you can make the door close........ P.S. Quite swampy and wet!
