Grey Creek Road Update Current Conditions Wednesday, February 02, 2011
The Grey creek road was in good shape as of yesterday February 1st. Chains are required on the very icy section from approximately 1km above the bridge to the winter parking area. There is a large round boulder that has rolled into the ditch at 4 km (about one km above the now repaired washout) that is blocking the ditch (see attached image). If anyone is up that way, and has skills with straps and/or rope along with a strong vehicle, if they could pull the boulder out of the ditch and push it off the downhill side of the road it would be appreciated. Also, watch for two new cross ditches: one at the old 3km gate and one at the wash-out at 3.5 km (top of suicide hill). They are well constructed and easily crossed as long as you are not speeding along at mach 5, which you shouldn't be anyway(!)

Just heard from someone who came down from Tet it is +2'c or so snow is crusty and Avalanche risk is high. They only went to Victors landing so could be better up farther . So if you have been up there Please post some info as to snow conditions ,trails and cabins etc. Road was icey but in good shape. Snow pack is much lower then normal and temps higher then norm. Should see some new snow through the week.
Have fun Help take care of the Tet join the Tet club.

Edwards Lake trail Alert / Warning Sunday, February 13, 2011
Recent accumulations have resulted in extreme conditions observed on the Edwards Lake trail from Victors Landing onward. This is where the trail rounds the ridge that separates Tannis and Gilbert Lakes. There was evidence of several slab releases on the end of the ridge and then more at Victors Landing on the uphill side. Several debris fields were observed crossing the trail towards Edwards. The worst avalanche prone part of this section of trail is generally just before it drops down to the lake. This party decided to respect the obvious conditions and not to press on, instead touring back to Batchelor Lake. And it was a touring day after all, due to a nasty crust resulting from yesterdays warm rainy conditions: it was nearly impossible to execute turns either on Tele or AT gear. Anyone have fresh info on Tet conditions Alert / Warning Tuesday, February 15, 2011
Hoping if someone has been up to Tet this week if they could post info. If someone has been up Tuesday or Wed and could post fresh info. This helps others plan trips and help to figure when to plow the road. If no one is going up there then no reason to plow the road. Please use chains and spread your tracks out to pack down the road evenly. This will help keep road open longer. Post how much fresh snow on road and on trails etc. Use wood as if it costs you $25 a piece, Please do not waste the wood supply.

Moonlight ski on Dakota Current Conditions Thursday, February 17, 2011
We had a great Moonlight ski on the ridge last night. The road was freshly plowed and was in great shape. We are having an incredible ski season. Evening skiing is great. All you need is a headlight. The snow makes your headlight seem 10 times as bright. This is far better than going to an overcrowded gym. The moon was in fine form so you didn't even need a headlight. We need more parking on the weekends. Email your councilor and tell them that we need to expand the parking. We have a real opportunity to bring in more tourist dollars to our businesses and to create some badly needed jobs for young people so they don't all leave. Dakota Ridge could be an incredible boost for the Sunshine coast economy but the parking has to be fixed first. This is a great place to ski! We just have to get our councilors out of their cars and off their butts. There is more to the Sunshine coast than the White line that runs down the highway. Tet Info needed Current Conditions Sunday, February 27, 2011
Planning on going up this week would be nice to have some reports from the cabins and trails, Is the road plowed often is it plowed everytime it snows. Loved the pictures posted wish more people posted info. I know there is often a full parking lot on weekends but no one shares info. I thought it strange one group cancelled there trip because of to much snow.
I know someone must be coming down from the Tet at this moment and hope they can post some info and maybe pics.
