pancake breakfast on Steele Current Conditions Tuesday, October 09, 2012
The third of the 3 cabin tours is taking place this Friday/Saturday/Sunday October 13/14th. There will be 2 groups heading to Steele. On Friday, the first group led by Michel Frenette will leave The Daily Roast Friday at 1600hrs to spend the night at Edwards and go to Steele on Saturday.
From the trailhead, Edwards can be reached within two hours on well-maintained trails. Add another 3 to 4 hrs to make to Steele.
For the second departure the tour will meet at 7:45AM at the Daily Roast in Sechelt (NE corner at 4-way-lights intersection): car pooling will be arranged from there to get to the trailhead.
Pancakes, coffee and hot chocolate will be served on Sunday morning.
Bring drinking water and lunch/snacks, plates, utensils and cup, wear suitable hiking footwear, and carry extra/waterproof clothing and your overnight gear.
Please contact Michel Frenette at 604-885-0458 or michel_frenette@dccnet.com if you plan to attend and/or need ride.
PLEASE NOTE: Though the Grey Creek FSR is in excellent shape for a gravel road, and drivable by some 2WD vehicles, the road is posted as 4WD only because of the deep swales near the top and steep grades.
