Grey Creek road has been ploughed to Tet Park trailhead Friday, February 28, 2014
The Grey Creek road has been ploughed to the winter trailhead, however compact snow, ice and ruts should be expected above the 6 km bridge. Chains and high clearance 4x4 are mandatory above the rock 'quarry hill' at 7 km. The road is slushy and slippery below quarry hill. Spread your tracks on the way down to speed melting and to minimize road erosion.

Chain up going to Tet Friday, February 28, 2014
I hope people put chains on when needed I have got stuck many times when I had chains on and some fool with out chains comes flying up the road and forces me into snow bank or the ditch.. Please slow down and use chains the road has many compact sections. Spread your tracks out to spread road out dont need water running down ruts washing road away. Please Park with sense angle park only best to back in and face down hill alittle makes easier to get out later. Watch for people stopped chaining up or walking up the road. SLOW DOWN!!!!!!!!!!! Please

Tet road best use chains from bottom of Quary hill Current Conditions Saturday, March 01, 2014
Yes %99 of time you can make it up with out chains but that 1 time you meet another car on the ice coverd hill and have to try to stop you will get stuck. If no one else was on the road you would be fine but you have to expect other vehicles coming the other way and road is not wide enough to pass. The last part of the road has deep compact and ice. If you get stuck no tow truck will come pull you out and even if they did go up it would cost you $300-$500 . If you can not stop on a hill and get going again you need chains on your wheels.
Only 2 vehicles up there at 11am guess everyone slept in

Tet Road looks like party at Steele 6 people tonight Current Conditions Sunday, March 02, 2014
from bridge up chains highly recomended. the last 1000 of deep compact snow and ice got soft around noon as temps warmed up and even with 4 wheels chained up it was hard driving to parking lot. Then some vehicles were sliding around on ice then digging into compact 8 inches deep.
Snow and rain mix at lot for some time many parts of the road lower down are getting very soft Please spread your tracks out so rain water does not run down ruts and wreck the road.. Have fun.

Sunday March 2 Current Conditions Sunday, March 02, 2014
easy drive up in high 4x4 thanks to the recent ploughing job. lots of pullouts but still a little slippery in places. you definitely don't want to go without chains. both Gilbert Lake trail and Victors Landing route to Edwards are getting high usage. cross ditches between top and bottom parking lot easily skiable. Edwards Cabin has 135cms at front steps. crossing Steele Creek easier than a month ago.

Tet reports so many people go up but few report Current Conditions Wednesday, March 05, 2014
I guess the Tet is to be a big secret so many people go up but few ever report any conditions from at the cabins etc. Maybe no one ever comes back from the Tet. Maybe the Saquatch ate them all. Only a few people post info after there trips. and even fewer post a picture would be great to see some pics of the snow around the cabins. Is McNair cabin buried in snow or not. a pic is worth 1000 words. Has it been snowing lots or rain also.

Rain and wet at Edwards abd Bachelor Current Conditions Thursday, March 06, 2014
Warm temps have lots of rains coming down Lake crossings are coverd in wet slush and water. It could be raining as high as steele or close to it. Road is wet deep slush last 1000ft is real bad like driving in deep sand not traction hard driving with chains on. Lots of ice under slush on road from bridge up. Hard to get out of some ruts.. If warm temps and rain keep up road will be bare in 3-4 days. Creeks are running hard lots of water coming off the banks and slopes. Cross ditches must be getting soft and wet.

Dakota Ridge Current Conditions Sunday, March 09, 2014
Beautiful day at the Ridge. The road was bare and so was the parking lot. The conditions were spring like. The sun was out and the snow was groomed. Icy in the shade and like wet sugar in the sun. The new blueberry run was groomed for the first time and was really nice except for the well marked exposed stumps at the bottom.

Temporary Road Closure for Grey Creek Road Work Alert / Warning Thursday, March 13, 2014
The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations advises that they will be conducting road works over the next week on the lower section of the Grey Creek Road (Sechelt-Dakota FSR), which provides access to Tetrahedron Provincial Park.
The road will be shut down for a short period during culvert installation and vehicles will be directed to detour on Dusty Road - Sechelt Landfill road. Culvert installation will be conducted mid-day on Friday or mid-day Saturday, March 14 or 15, 2014, and should be a 3 to 4 hour install. The culvert location is just above the road junction to upper Tuwanek, above the private lots at the bottom of the large gravel pit: approximately 1.5 km from Sechelt Inlet Road. The contractor , Al Cook, is good about allowing traffic through when possible, and a detour via Dusty Road/Sechelt Landfill will also be available.

The road was clear except for the last km or so where the snow was fairly deep. I used chains and had no problem. It was snowing heavily on our hike up. It rained on Sat afternoon and then continued to snow. Bachelor cabin was in very clean condition. Thank you! There is at least half a cord of firewood left. The lake is very solid.

Tet road not bad shape only last km rutted Current Conditions Thursday, March 20, 2014
Only 2 inches new snow at lot in last week or so Freezing at night and warm in afternoon. Deep ruts in last 1 km of road. Hard not to drive in ruts now low clearance vehicles might have some trouble. Good traction made it with out chains best to have them ready. Parking area was frozen hard but might get soft later in day. Have fun slow down watch for other cars share the road. Might be people walking up or down the road etc.

Powder Day In the Tetrahedron Current Conditions Monday, March 24, 2014
Went up to Victors Landing on Saturday and had a great ski. Fresh powder and it snowed most of the day. The north slopes of Victors Landing were incredible. We have gained about a foot of snow in a week. The road is a bit heavy for the last km but quite passable. 5 other cars in the lot. It was a really spectacular weekend. You weren't there??Where were you? You really missed it. You should be ashamed of yourself! More snow coming so you will get a second chance. Just don't mess up.

Steele Cabin snowshoeing (March,22-23,2014) Current Conditions Tuesday, March 25, 2014
Our group of 18 ppl went Sunshine Coast snowshoeing to Steele Cabin this past weekend, we all really enjoyed!
Here is some information about the road and the trail.
*** We had 4 cars - 4 runner and Jeep made to trailhead without the chains (need the good tires though), a SUV made to the traihead with the chains. Ford escape without the chains had to park at least 2km below and we had to ferry the passengers/driver in that car.
*** We put our snowshoes on right away in the parking lot and used them all the way to Steele Cabin and back
***Edward lake was safe to cross this weekend
*** 13 of us stayed in the hut while 5 of us set up the tent nearby (The cabin was really full).
We don't have the chance to say 'thank you' to Cavin in person this time, hope next time! We can not say thank you enough for all the plowing you have done on that road over the years!! Thank you!!!
