Aug 8th a small fire broke out across inlet from Egmont and Aug 10th a small fire broke out above Halfmoon bay near Cairns Creek Helicopter airdrops were made. Also a Biker had to put out a unattended fire up the B&K road near the Elf protest site. PLEASE be very carefull with anything in bush. Hot exhausts fires or cig butts

To the friendly birder gentleman we ran into on our way to Steele a month ago: this past week we camped up on Rainy Peak and ran into a Ptarmigan on the ridge. Beauty!

No Fires allowed No Cooking, Beach fires at all no Tiki torches fireworks or target practice allowed Bush is dry. Dont smoke in the bush drink instead. Have fun stay safe.

Tickets are being issued when caught. Also stage 3 water restrictions start Friday. Only hand watering allowed no sprinklers shut down all auto sprinklers. Let condo management know. We are short of water and high fire risk

MOF lifting campfire ban today at Noon Alert / Warning Tuesday, August 30, 2016
The bush is still very dry. If you are going to have a small campfire please make sure you have tools or access to water to put it out COLD If you dont have means to put it out dont light it. Make sure fire is away from any dry grass or bush etc. NO Pallet fires only small campfires 2ft diameter allowed. Still not safe to have fires but politics is making choices that it is safe now.
BE Carefull stay safe. Make sure fire is out cold before you leave it alone. Have fun lets not burn again.

Depending on the weather, a few club members will be heading to Mcnair this weekend to do some repairs and painting. This could entail running the generator for a number of hours.
